Grant open: We Are Queensland Grants Program

This grants program is designed to assist Queensland-based not-for-profit organisations, eligible community groups and local councils to undertake community-led initiatives during 2017–18 to build social cohesion in Queensland communities.

Amount

Grants of between $5,000 and $20,000 (GST exclusive) are on offer to contribute to eligible project costs for projects in two categories:

Linking families—designed for projects undertaken by organisations that connect Queensland families with other families and build linkages into the broader Queensland community.

Connecting neighbours and communities—aimed at supporting community-based activities that bring individuals, families and groups together to build connections and increase bonds between people from different backgrounds.

Eligibility

The following organisations are eligible to apply:

  • incorporated associations or bodies
  • corporations operating on a not-for-profit basis
  • parents and citizens or parents and friends associations
  • councils.

All applicant organisations must be operating on a not-for-profit basis with a valid Australian Business Number (ABN).

Types of projects

The We are Queensland grants program will provide funding for projects that contribute to the objectives of the two program categories. Eligible organisations may apply for funding for projects under either or both categories. Projects must:

  • be undertaken within Queensland and specify the local government area and location the project will take place
  • clearly identify which category the project supports
  • provide a detailed budget
  • be completed within 12 months of receipt of the grant.
